Meet the Team: Kirsty
Kirsty and recruitment go together like Han & Leia, Homer & Marge, Rose & Jack, Nutella and a spoon. She’s an absolute natural, applying every ounce of experience and drive into each and every brief she receives, in a way that never fails to astound. After 15 years of practising, she still can’t name all 50 US states without cheating though.
What’s something people would never guess about you?
I have two nicknames, socks and bird, and no one knows why.
How did you get into recruitment?
I started at the reception in a creative recruitment agency when I was 22, and I found the industry and people really interesting and here I am 15 years on.
Who did you want to be as a kid?
Madonna.
How do you spend your time outside of work?
At the moment, I’m pretty consumed with my two children and running them around to various groups and after-school clubs. But when I get a chance, I like to travel, climb mountains, read a good book and eat at nice restaurants.
What achievements are you proud of?
Bringing my kids into the world.
Climbing Machu Picchu.
Getting through a day!
What were you like as a kid?
Strong-willed, sociable, and adventurous.
What’s the most awkward thing that happens to you on a regular basis?
I have art for putting my foot in it. My friends call me Bridget Jones because of it.
I must think before I speak… Mr Fitzherbert. 😉
What movie or TV show do you rewatch often?
Friends. Because it’s still good and easy to watch.

What’s your music taste?
My favourite song is Jackie Wilson’s ‘Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher and Higher’. Because it always puts a smile on my face.
What’s the last thing you’ve read or a podcast you’ve listened to?
Couch to 5k podcast, I have lots of baby weight to lose.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Jeff Bridges and David Harbour.
Who is your celebrity crush?
Chris Hemsworth and Jason Mamoa.
Tell me about your favourite memory from your life…
Hanging out at Barnet Rugby club with my dad and three brothers every Sunday when we were growing up. Making dens, helping pull pints and running through the men’s changing rooms with my hands covering my eyes — so many fun family memories.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve ever done?
White water rafting, caving, abseiling. I’m trying to think of something really wild but can’t. Maybe my wildest moment is still to come.
If you could travel to any year in a time machine, what year would you choose?
1960s. The clothes, the music, the love. ✌️
